This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm whether a person is in custody, arrange a release, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the responsible public office directly for those matters.
Official Keweenaw Contacts
For an initial booking, current custody question, or a request for an existing sheriff record, start with the office that holds the local information.
Keweenaw County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Curt Pennala
5105 Fourth Street
Eagle River, MI 49950
Non-emergency: 906-337-0528
Fax: 906-337-4278
Email: kcso@keweenawcountymi.gov
The sheriff operates a 72-hour lockup and does not publish an online roster. Ask whether the person is booked, released, or transferred, and ask for the current receiving jail when applicable. For a copy of an existing record, use the official KCSO FOIA form. The public county contact listing gives courthouse hours of Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays.
Keweenaw County Courthouse and 97th District Court
5095 Fourth Street
Eagle River, MI 49950
Phone: 906-337-2229
Fax: 906-337-2253
Use the court for procedural and case questions, then check MiCOURT case search by name or case number. MiCOURT is informational and may not show every case or filing.
Choose the Right Record Route
Custody systems cover different stages. A direct call to KCSO is the best local path for a fresh booking, while other sources may apply after a transfer or sentence.
- Use Keweenaw booking and records information for the official records-request and local-custody path.
- Use Most Wanted for warrant-check context, then resolve a warrant with the court, an attorney, or law enforcement.
- Use MDOC OTIS for a person in Michigan state custody or recent state supervision.
- Use MiCOURT for court-case leads and later disposition information.
- Use the Michigan FOIA statute and the KCSO form for a request for existing public records.
